EDUCATION 322. (Formerly 238.) ADMINISTRATION OF AUDIOVISUAL
AIDS IN EDUCATION. The organization and administration
of the audio-visual education program in public school curricula
constitute the basic problems for this course. Special emphasis
will also be placed on the application of the principles of educational
psychology in the use of visual, audio-visual, and auditory
aids in the instructional program. This course requires twelve
hours in Education as a prerequisite. Three semester hours.
EDUCATION 331. (Formerly 219.) PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANIZATION
AND ADMINISTRATION. This course deals with the educational
organization of the state and local units. Three semester hours.
EDUCATION 332. (Formerly 220.) THE AMERICAN SYSTEM OF
PUBLIC EDUCATION. An effort will be made to give advanced students
a deeper insight into the operation of the comprehensive
organization involved in public education in America. Three semester
hours.
EDUCATION 402. (Formerly 214.) ELEMENTARY SCIENCE.
A study of the subject-matter content to be taught in
the primary and elementary grades will be supplemented by a
study of methods, problems and materials to be used in teaching
elementary-school science. This course is required of all students
majoring in elementary education. Three semester hours.
EDUCATION 403. (Formerly 215.) CHILDREN'S LITERATURE. A
survey study of the literature for primary and elementary school
levels. Story telling, choral reading, dramatizing, illustrating will
be included in the scope of this course. This course is required
of all students majoring in elementary education. Three semester
hours.
EDUCATION 404. (Formerly 216.) ELEMENTARY-SCHOOL CURRICULUM.
Intensive and practical study of the current trends and
issues in elementary-school curricula in the core areas and administration
forms the basis of this course. Three semester hours.
