BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
in the center of a large site across Coggin Avenue from the Main
Campus.
Girls Dormitory. A large apartment house has been rebuilt
into a dormitory for girls. It is across the street from the Memorial
Chapel.
Gymnasium. Behind the Memorial Chapel is the large wooden
Gymnasium.
Camp Bowie Buildings. During the administration of Southwestern
University several large buildings were moved from
Camp Bowie for use as class rooms and laboratories.
Coggin Academy Building. The front of the McClelland
Library building is the former Coggin Academy Building, the
first high school building in Brown County.
Under the will of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Coggin an endowment
was provided for the teaching of Agriculture and Home
Economics in Daniel Baker College. A portion of the income from
the endowment is used for scholarships in these departments to
Brown County Boys and Girls. Applications for the scholarships
are to be made to Miss Alta Craig, bursar of Daniel Baker College.
Courses in Agriculture and Home Economics are taught on
the campus of Daniel Baker College, a few blocks from the campus
of Howard Payne, where liberal arts courses are given.
Frequent bus service makes the exchange of students convenient
from one campus to the other.
It is expected that a full degree program will soon be given
in both these practical departments.
Courses are listed in proper departments under Courses of
Instruction.
