BROWN COUNTY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
The Brown County School Board has transferred its contract
to train veterans of World War II and the Korean War under the
Texas Education Agency and the Veterans Administration to
Howard Payne College. Courses are given largely at night in
Agriculture, Auto Mechanics, Distributive Education, Welding
and Wood Work.
Howard Payne College has acquired from the Surplus Property
Custodian the educational rights to the use of nearly 200
acres of ground with a number of buildings and equipment on
the old Camp Bowie grounds for use as a Vocational School.
Students interested in these courses should file application
with Dean Z. T. Huff, co-ordinator for all Veterans Administration
programs.
BROWNWOOD COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
The Brownwood College of Business has been purchased
and moved to the Daniel Baker College campus. The school has
a contract with the Texas Education Agency for the education
of Veterans. Terminal courses are offered in business subjects.
It is operated as a non-credit institution.
STANDING IN EDUCATIONAL WORLD
Howard Payne College is a member of the Association of
Texas Colleges and The Southern Association of Colleges and
Secondary Schools. For certificate purpose the institution is approved
by the Texas Education Agency and similar agencies in
other states. Its graduates and students are accepted by standard
professional and graduate universities. The College is a member of-
