Having a naturally hopeful disposition my gloom did
not stick long, and I determined to look upon these two
episodes as mere accidents.
Hlow far I was from graduation in the school of experience,
I little knew. At least I was beginning to see
who could be depended on and who could not!
There seemed to be just two of us, myself and my
gun. One thing I knew, when it was on my hip, my
gun was on my side!
