course the grammar and structure of the language is carefully studied.
Particular attention is given to pronunciation, the spoken language,
and elementary phonetics.

Composition, grammar review, conversation continued. FrenchEnglish
and English-French translations. Phonetics.
Textbooks.-At West Point, Martin and Russell; Sans Famille,
Malot; Fifteen French Plays, Francois.
FRENCH 3.
Advanced Course. Fall, Winter, Spring. Three Hours a Week.
In this course the class will study advanced grammar and composition.
There will be reading of more difficult French texts,
conversation, and phonetics.

Merimee; Moi, Labiche et Martin; Neuf Contes Choisis, Daudet.
