Advanced Course. Winter, Spring. Three Hours a Week
The entire time will be spent in reading the plays of Aeschylus,
while othe, will be studied critically.
Greek Literature will be studied carefully. With Goodwin's
Greek Moods and Tenses, the class will make a thorough study of
the subjunctive and optative moods.
Prerequisite.-Greek 12 and 21.
Textbooks.-Plays of Aeschylus, Jebb; Euripides, Sophocles;
Goodwill's Moods and Tenses; Literature.
NOTE.-In the place of Course 22, New Testament Greek may
be substituted. This change is left to the option of instructor and
pupils. Text for New Testament qreek is Westcott and Hort's New
Testament.
HISTORY
HISTORY 1.-GREECE AND ROME.
Fall, Winter, Spring. Three Hours a Week.
This course is to acquaint the student with the great achievements
of the Greeks in government, law, literature, art and science, which
will be described in connection with a narrative of the history of
the gifted race. In the history of Rome, the emphasis will be
placed, not on the military conquests of the Romans, but on the
great men she produced and the permanent contributions she made
to the civilization of the world.
