FORTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE-FIFTH CALLED SESSION. 103
Said Road District No. 2, Cherokee County, Texas, as hereinabove
defined shall have authority to issue bonds for the purpose
of constructing, maintaining and operating macadamized,
graveled or paved roads and turnpikes, or in aid thereof, as
contemplated by Section 52, Article 3, of the Constitution upon
a vote of two-thirds majority of the resident property tax-payers
voting thereon who are qualified electors of said District as
herein defined, and to levy and collect taxes sufficient to pay the
interest thereon and provide a sinking fund for the redemption
thereof at maturity, at an election held in accordance with, and
under provisions of Chapter 16 of the General Laws passed by
the 39th Legislature at its First Called Session, 1926, such bonds
and taxes to be a charge only against said District as herein described
and defined and not against the territory segregated
from the District by the passage of this Act."
SEC. 2. It is expressly provided that said Chapter 147, Acts
of the 39th Legislature, First Called Session, shall be and remain
in full force and effect except as hereby amended.
SEC. 3. Proof of publication of the Constitutional notice required
in the enactment of Local and Special Laws has been
made in the manner and form required by law.
SEC. 4. The public importance of the purposes herein contemplated
and the deplorable condition of the roads and highways
in Cherokee County create an emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Constitutional
Rule requiring bills to be read upon three several days in
each House and the said Rule is hereby suspended, and that
this Act take effect and be in force from and after its passage
and it is so enacetd.
Effective 20 days after adjournment.
