Latin American Scholarship/Loan: The Missions Division of the Scholarships
Baptist General Convention of Texas makes available scholarships and
matching loans to qualified Latin American students of Baptist faith
attending Baptist colleges in Texas. Scholarships are generally $250
per semester or $500 per academic year. Applications are available

Baptist General Convention of Texas makes available scholarships to
Latin American ministerial students attending Baptist colleges in Texas.
Scholarships are based on $8 per semester hour. Applications can be
obtained by writing to the Director, Missions Division, Baptist General
Convention of Texas, 304 Baptist Building, Dallas, Texas, 75201.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank London Memorial Scholarship: Established by
Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. London of Alice, Texas, in memory of Charles
F. London's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank London of Robstown,
Texas.
Frances L. Merritt Scholarship Fund: The original gift in this fund
was made by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilson of Temple, Texas, in honor of
Dr. Frances L. Merritt. Mrs. Wilson was the former Effie C. Fairweather,
a graduate of Howard Payne College. When this fund reaches
$1,000 it may be used by worthy students preparing to teach in the
elementary grades.
National Baptist Scholarship: The Missions Division of the Baptist
General Convention of Texas makes available scholarships to Black
students of Baptist faith attending Baptist colleges in Texas. Eligible
students may receive $250 per semester or $500 per academic year.
Applications for this scholarship can be obtained by writing to the
Secretary, National Baptist Scholarship Committee, 307 Baptist
Building, Dallas, Texas, 75201.
Willard and Stella Russell Chair For Psychological Studies: A generous
stipend will be given annually from this memorial scholarship
fund to a person in psychology who has done outstanding work in
psychological research, writing, or in the development of innovative
ideas. The Chancellor, President, and one faculty member will choose
the recipient. This gift is provided by Dr. Willard Russell in memory
of his late wife, Stella.
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Sentell Scholarship: Revenues from an endowment
set up by Mr. and Mrs. George W. Sentell of Trinity, Texas,
shall be used each year to help some worthy, needy student.
Dr. Ben M. Shelton Scholarship: The late Dr. Ben M. Shelton endowed
a scholarship for a worthy boy or girl.
Waldene Tauch Scholarship: Established by Dr. Waldene Tauch for
worthy students in memory of Mrs. Sam Hughes of Brady and Miss
Lena Vinson of Brownwood.21
