Scholarships Houston Endowment MacArthur Academy of Freedom Scholarships:
Four awards at $375 per semester each for one year. Awarded only
to a junior.
Jack and Nita Lamkin Scholarship Fund for the Douglas MacArthur
Academy of Freedom. Information concerning the amount available
and conditions for receiving same may be known by writing the President
of the University or Colonel Russell 0. Fudge.
Paul and Elizabeth Kayser Scholarship: One at $500 per semester
for one year. Awarded only to a junior.
The J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation Awards: Three awards at
$500 per semester each for one year. Awarded only to a junior.
Magna Carta Dames Scholarship: An annual award honoring the
retiring State Regent. Normally one at $250 per semester for one year.
Roy E. Massengill Memorial Scholarship: An endowment established
by Mrs. Massengill in honor of her husband.
Willie C. McRay Scholarship Fund of James Campbell Chapter,
Daughters of the American Revolution, Dallas, Texas. Normally $275
annual award to worthy senior woman Academy member.
The Joseph H. Sidran Scholarship: An endowment. One at $250
per semester for one year.
The Hatton W. Sumners Scholarship Program: Five awards of
$1,000 each per semester for two years-total of $4,000 per award.
Awarded only to entering juniors after a competitive interview before
a panel of directors of the Sumners Foundation. The details of these

Texas Power and Light Company Scholarships: Approximately
twenty per year, depending in number and value of the grant received
