BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
semester. The student will pay a term fee of $50.00 and for all
hours above the usual fifteen per semester will pay $10.00 per
semester hour.
Wives of Ministers. Wives of ministers will be admitted to
the Liberal Arts Department on payment of a fee of $50.00 per
semester.
Children of Ministers. Minor children of ministers who are
actively engaged in the work of the ministry will pay $92.50 per
semester.
Honor Graduates. First honor graduates of high schools,
junior colleges, and academies will receive credit for $200.00 on
the year's tuition; and second honor graduates, $100.00. These
scholarships are sent to accredited institutions by the Texas Association
of Church Related Colleges.
The college reserves the right to assign duties on an hour
basis to students receiving scholarships.
GENERAL REGULATIONS
Sessions and Semesters. The school year is divided into two
semesters of eighteen weeks each.
Minimum Classes. No instructor will be obliged to give a
course scheduled unless at least fifteen students register for it.
In the case of upper classes where the course is required, the
course may be given with less than fifteen.
Examinations. At the close of every semester written examiations
are given. If a student makes an "E" grade on his final
examination he may be given another examination within a year.
Honorable Dismissal. Students who leave the institution before
the close of a semester are required to sign an honorable dismissal
statement. If this statement is not signed and given to the
Dean, all the student's credit and refunds are withheld.
Parents' Consent. Students expecting to study only fine arts
or commercial branches, or others who expect to pursue less than
the normal hours of work should bring written consent from their
parents. Students must have the written consent of their parents
to sign checks and parents are requested not to permit children
to open accounts with the Brownwood merchants.- -
