Admission Requirements
Abilene Christian College is fully committed
to an equal educational opportunity policy for
students without regard to race, color, creed, or
national origin.
The following items must be submitted before
final admission can be granted:
1. APPLICATION
If you have never been a student in ACC,
you may obtain an application for admission
from: Director of Admissions, ACC Station, Box
7988, Abilene, Texas 79601. This application
should be completed and returned by March 1,
if possible, for fall enrollment.
If you have been a student in ACC previously,
you must complete a re-enrollment form which
may be obtained at the Registrar's office.
2. RECOMMENDATIONS
When completing the application form name
three persons not related to you but who know
you scholastically and religiously. The College
admits only those students who are of good
moral character and have a seriousness of purpose-qualities
which parallel its own operational
purpose.
3. TRANSCRIPT
If you have not yet graduated from high
school, ask your principal to send to the Admissions
Office a statement indicating your rank
(lst, 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarter) in your class. After
graduation send an official transcript showing
date of graduation and class rank. Transfers:
see point 8, below).
4. ENTRANCE EXAMS
Freshmen must take the following tests before
admission requirements are satisfied: (1) American
College Testing Program (ACT); (2) The
Freshman Battery of Tests (see Freshman
Orientation). You will also be required to take
occasional special examinations for research
purposes. You should take the ACT early in your high
school senior year and complete the admission
applications as soon as possible. If tests are not
taken prior to enrolling in ACC, you will have
30 days to complete all tests or you will automatically
withdraw yourself from the College.
If you desire readmission, you must apply to the
Dean of Students. (Transfers: see point 8, below).
5. NEW STUDENT DEPOSIT
If you are enrolling in ACC for the first time,
you are required to submit a $10 new student fee
with the Application for Admission. This fee is
non-refundable except where admission is not
granted by the college. If you are submitting a
room reservation request, please include an additional
$25 deposit. The $25 room reservation
deposit is refundable only if requested on, or before,
May 1 for Summer registration, July 1 for
Fall registration, or January 1 for Spring registration.
You should indicate your first, second,
and third choice of dorms.
If you are a current ACC student, you will
have priority over others in choice of rooms for
a specified period. Your $25 room deposit will
be kept until you cease living in the dormitory,
then it will be refunded to you on request or it
will be applied to any unpaid balance on your
bill or loan. The room deposit for apartments is
$50. All room reservations will be held until the
last day of registration and then be released
unless you make special holding arrangements in
advance with the Office of Student Personnel
Services. After the semester begins, necessary
room changes must be coordinated through the
dormitory manager.

coming to ACC. The examining physician
