In selecting a course of study, the student mu first choose those
subjects in which he is in arrears. College work may not be assigned
until all preparatory work is completed or assigned. The stutent
should choose his courses next from the list of courses under the
head of "Requirements for Graduation." Those required courses are
designed to afford a basis of general culture which everyone should
have before specialization is begun, and it is, therefore, urged that
much of this work be done in the freshman and sophomore years.
The student will be required to choose one of the "groups" by the
beginning of the junior year.
If a student is deficient in English he will do well to place this
subject on his schedule for extra work. The Dean reserves'the right,
upon the recommendation of any instructor, to prescribe additional
work in English to any student.
The regular student should plan to make three courses each term.
By special permission a student may take three and three-fifths courses.
Under no consideration will any student be given credit for more than
three and three-fifths courses.
The Dean will act as an advisor to all freshman and sophomore
students, but after the choice of a "group" is made each student will
take the instructor in charge of his major as his advisor. No work
should be taken without consulting his advisor.
