DEFINITION OF COURSES
A college course shall consist of sixty recitation-hours. As a rule
all classes will meet five times per week. But some courses will be
offered which meet only twice and some which meet only three times
per week. A course which meets twice per week for twelve weeks will
constitute two-fifths of a course. In case of a laboratory course,
three hours in the laboratory will be equivalent to one hour of recitation. All college courses are designated by a number of three digits.
All courses whose hundred's digit is one, are open to freshmen and
sophomores; those whose hundred's digit is two, are open to sophomores
and juniors, and those whose hundred's digit is three, are open
to juniors and seniors.
The courses are designated in such a way as to show whether they
are elementary, intermediate, or advanced, and also the number of
hours the class will meet each week. All courses whose unit's digit is
three, meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; and those whose
unit's digit is two, meet on Wednesday and Friday.
There will be some variations in the different courses; but as a
rule, three or more courses will be required in a subject before an advanced
course may be taken. In case it becomes advisable to offer in

in the first subsequent issue of the College Bulletin.
