DANIEL BAKER COLLEGE
Our aim is to give students a thorough, all-round trainingsomething
more than a mere preparation for simple clerical work.
The course is so arranged that the student advances step by step
through simple bookkeeping to corporation accounting as well as
the proper handling of partnership and stock company accounts.
Now you can readily see from the above that we offer a thorough
and practical training.
SCHOOL OFRATORY, EXPRESSION AND
DRAMATIC ART.
The aim in this department is two-fold: First, to arouse within
the pupil an appreciation of the work of the great masters of
literature; and, secondly. to train the pupil mentally, morally and
physically, that they may ultimately be capable of expressing the
thoughts and emotions contained in these works of art.
"When a man loves truth and can present it effectively to others,
he has received the best possible training for the work of life as
well as the work of oratory. 'The greatest thing in oratory is the
orator.' "
Realizing that a strong personality, a nible and cultured manhood
and womanhood is infinitely superior to any trick of voice or
gesture, it shall be the object of this Department to develop real
power by cultivating those qualities of mind and heart which lie
behind all expression, and which spontaneously create its requisite
forms.
Oratory differs from other arts in that it is essentially a social
matter, and the best and most rapid results are obtained in class
work. Class and individual instruction is required of all students
working for diploma from this department.
