of Livy as a historian, source of his materials, etc., will be
investigate( Continuation of Grammar.
Prerequisite.-Latin 11.
Text.-Livy, Melbuish.
LATIN 12.-HORACE,
Fall. Three Hours a Week.
The Odes, Epodes, and several Satires and Epistles, will be
read. The metres of Horace are carefully studied, and daily practice
in reading Horace metrically will be required. Continued work
at sight translation will be given. More advanced work in composition.
A short course in Latin Literature will be given during
this term.
Prerequisite.-Latin 20.
Text.-Horac, Smith & Greenough; Roman Literature, Mackail.
LATIN 13.-TACITUS.
Winter. Three Hours a Week.
The class will read the Agricola and Germania. In connection
with the text, peculiarities of style and subject matter are noted.
The literary standards of his time are carefully noticed.
Prerequisite.-Latin 12.
Texts.-Tacitus, Gudeman; Allen and Greenough's Grammar.
LATIN 14.-CICERO AND PLINY'S LETTERS.
Spring. Three Hours a Week.
A general selection from the letters of both Cicero and Pliny
will be read. The object of the course will be to present some
