But representation at the na-
tional convention isn't the only
evidence of more active partici-
pation on the part of The Barris-
ters. This fall St. Mary's can
boast of twelve ALSA Membership
Keys on the local campus, and of
nineteen American Bar Associa-
tion Journal subscriptions sent
in this past summer session. And,
not to be overlooked is the ap-
pointment of St. Mary's as the
Fifth Circuit Convention Commit-
tee by Fifth Circuit Vice-Presi-
dent Jack Swertfeger.ing in San Antonio and are doing
quite well for themselves . .
Brunson McLeroy, '51, has moved
to Austin . . . Ferdinand Maese,
'51, and Johnny Rokovich, '51,
are with the Alamo Title Com-
pany in good ole' S. A. ... . Sid-
ney Callendar, '52, drops around

tivity in the ALSA was given by
the recentvisit ofJackSwertfeger,
in July. During his visit here, Mr.
Swertfeger visited the law school
campus and met with Dean Ernest
Raba and with the officers of The
Barristers. After discussing the
progress of The Barristers in re-
cent months, and its plans for the
future, the Fifth Circuit Vice-
President commented that per-
haps The Barristers is one of the
fastest-developing student bar
associations in the nation.
If present progress continues,
The Barristers will soon be recog-
nized as one of the most outstand-
ing student bar organizations in
