As we meet and pass our friends and acquaintances, we like to
convey to them our good wishes for their welfare. So, phrases like
"Have a Good Day" and "Vaya con Dios" originate and last, since
they relate our hopes for those we know and love. I found this poem
that really "gets it all together" for wishing someone the best in
life: "Whatever paths you travel, these blessings be yours, I pray;
cherished friends and loved ones, to brighten each step of the way.
Sunshiny days with blue skies, a heart that smiles and sings; an
awareness of life's beauty, joy found in simple things. Inspiring
hopes, dreams which come true, work you enjoy to do; good health,
contentment, a peace supreme, the gift of laughter, too. The virtue
of understanding, which feels another's woe, a faith in God which
radiates with a very special glow."
