Musical is for alumni students

Holland Evans

There have been many
success stories to come out of
McMurry University Holland
Evans current President of the
McMurry Board of Alumni is
one of them. After graduating
from McMurry in 1966 Mr.
Evans joined the Army and was
sent overseas to Germany and
then Vietnam. Having served his
country for 3 years Holland
decided to further his education.
He earned a MBA in Marketing
from Texas Tech in Lubbock
Texas and a Masters in
International Management from
the University of Arizona in
Phoenix Arizona. Once his
education was completed he
moved on to the oil business
becoming an Executive for an oil
field manufacturer in Houston.

This summer
McMurry specifically an office
on the second floor of Jay-
Rollins Library became the
housing site of a very special
collection-The Grady
McWhiney Collection of Celtic
Southern and Civil War history.
Consisting of approximately
5000 books this collection is
for the students "an opportunity
for higher learning in the history
program and if interested in
predominantly Nineteenth-
Century American history this is
an opportunity to work with
books on the time period and of

Currently Mr. Evans makes his
living as a Freight Forwarder
importing and exporting
documents all over the world.
According to Mr.
Evans the traditions here at
McMurry haven't changed much
since he was a student.
Homecoming this year will be
much the same as it was 30
years ago. Not only have the
traditions stayed the same but
Mr. Evans says that McMurry
still possesses a very impressive
student body. The President of
the Board of Alumni also had
some advice for today's
students " Find yourself a
mentor someone who is doing
what you want to do. Find out
how they applied college to real
life. There are plenty of Alumni
who arc willing to help."

second floor of Jay-Rollins
Library there will be a Friends
of the Library Meeting in which
Dr. Grady McWhiney will be the
guest speaker. If interested in
learning more information on
this "tip of expensive and
beneficial network" as Dr. Don
Fraicr stated you can attend
this meeting and learn more
from the very founder himself.
