The mission of the City of Lakeway Heritage Commission is to preserve, protect, and promote the documents, photographs, and memorabilia that chronicle Lakeway history.

LeTourneau University Margaret Estes Library

The Little Elm Public Library (LEPL), founded in 1999, is located in the Town of Little Elm, a stone’s throw from Lake Lewisville. LEPL’s mission is to enrich our community through expanding access to innovation, information, ideas, and inspiration. With a growing, bustling community of over 50,000 to serve, the Little Elm Public Library is a vibrant and busy community center. Among the features of the library are a makerspace with three 3-D printers and a laser cutter; public art exhibit space; a seed library; and kits of all kinds. LEPL is designated as a Tackle Loaner site in its partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife. LEPL is a proud recipient of the 2022 Texas Municipal Leagues Director’s Association Award of Excellence – only awarded to 73 of the 542 public libraries in Texas.

Serving Llano County and the city of Llano, the Llano County Public Library supports over 3,000 residents within the city and over 19,000 residents within the county. The Llano Library System plays a vital role in the daily lives of residents in Central Texas, and its personnel maintain an aggressive schedule of programs for young children and home-schoolers.

The Pioneer Texas Heritage Committee and the Tarrant County Historical Society came together in the 1950s to create the Log Cabin Village, a compilation of historical structures aimed at providing education on Texas life in the 19th century. They restored and furnished each structure with artifacts, and today the village is open to the public.

The Lone Star Flight Museum is a 501(c)(3) aviation museum and STEM learning center with a mission to preserve, educate and inspire. Led by CEO, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Douglas H. Owens, LSFM’s new $38 million state of the art facility at Houston’s Ellington Airport opened September 16, 2017. In addition to the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, the 130,000 square foot facility houses the Museum’s renowned flying collection of historic aircraft, a $1 million, high-tech Aviation Learning Center and dynamic hands-on exhibits.

Lubbock High School is Lubbock's first and oldest high school, first established in 1891 with 15 pupils in a store. Today, it is an internationally-renowned institution, takes part in the International Baccalaureate Program, and has one of the state's top magnet programs.
