Eddie and Wanda Pierce came to Marfa in 1946 from
Chisholm, Texas, Rockwall County. Eddie was 21 years old
and Wanda war 17 when they moved to Marfa.
Eddie was born September 25, 1924 in Rockwall, County,
(the smallest county in Texas). Wanda was born in Kaufman,
County. They lived all there lives about one mile apart.
Eddie went to school in Chisholm and Rockwall. Wanda
went to school in Chisholm and Terrell.
David Pierce was raised in the business and has worked
part time while going to school. He graduated from Marfa
High School in 1967. David went to college at Texas Tech in
Lubbock and Sul Ross in Alpine. After graduating from
college David went to work full time for Eddie and later be-
came CO-owner. He married Wanda Wenche of Lubbock. Wanda
Wenche Pierce went to school at Wilson High School, Texas
Tech and Sul Ross.

YEAR BUSINESS BEGAN: 1955
EARLIER HISTORY: In 1946 Eddie Pierce worked for the Hord
Motor Company as Partsman. Later worked for Casner Motor
Company as a car salesman. Started a Used car lot in 1949
by the name of Highland Car Corral. Bought out Barton Used
cars in 1951 at the location of what now is Webb Motors
Company Showroom. The first of 1952 Eddie bought Starnes
Motor Company in Alpine. He then changed the name to Pierce
Pontiac. This was sold after one year and then Eddie bought
Jim Chancey's Pontiac & International Harvester Company in
1953 which was where the Holiday Capri Inn, Thunderbird
Restaurant, and etc. are now.
