Receive Awards At
State FHA Meet

and Julia Rister from the Bart-
Iett Chapter of Future Home-
makers of America will be
among 300 Future Homemak-
era from over the state to be
awarded their State Degrees of
Achievement the highest a-
ward of the organization at
the State meeting of the Texas
Association of Future Home-
makers of America to be held
at the Memorial Auditorium in
Dallas April 23-24. Theme of
the meeting will be "FHA Steps
Into Action."
More than 5000 members
and advisors representing 76-
O00 members in 1600 chapters
throughout the state arc ex-
pected to attend. Members are
liomemaking students in junior
and senior high schools. Home-
making teachers serve as ad-
visors. Representatives of the Bart-
lctt chapter of Bartlett High
School will be Janet Sellers Nel-
wyn Marek Debra Janke and
Julia Rister. Mrs. Whitley FHA
advisor and Mrs. Milton Rister
will accompany the group.
Keynote speaker will be Rev-
erend Logan Cummings Pastor
First Baptist Church Brown-
wood. Reverend Cummings will
speak on involvement of young
people in solving today's prob-
lems. Ho is well known for his
ability to communicate with
youth.
Installation of the 1971-72
state officers will climax the
Saturday morning business
session. At this time ten offic-
ers elected through chapter par-
ticipation throughout the state
will be placed in office. A newly
elected president will receive
tho gavel from Pam Price Yan-
tis outgoing president. A high-
light of the Saturday morning
session will be a closing chall-
enge given by Miss Barbara
Baley 1969-70 Area IV FHA
President and now a Home Eco-
nomics student at Tarleton
State College Stephenville.
