Depth was the main problem
as the Bulldogs placed 2nd to
Lometa in the District 25-B
Track Meet held last week-end
in Fort Hood. Lometa gathered
138 points to the Bulldogs 129.
Bartlett captured 8 first pla-
ces out of a possible 14. The
Bulldogs also picked up 2 second
place finishes. The Bulldogs
had to settle for second in the
mile relay after dropping the
baton.

Bulldogs gave a complete never
give-up attitude until the last
race was over and that he was
very pleased with the perfor-
mances given by each track and

we had only ten boys he stated

Homecoming have been mail-
ed to out-of-town ex-students
and former residents of the
greater Rogers school and

present area residents and vi
sitors converge upon Rogers on
Saturday April 24 the town's
present population ol under
1000 will be swelled to about
5000 or more.

town was a booming cotton
center and boasted of 7 doc-
tors G cotton gins G hotels 3
banks and an opera house.
This was the era in which
much cotton buying took place
on Rogers streets and more
cotton was shipped annually
from Rogers than any other
town in Texas. :
At this homecoming how-
ever there will not be much
cotton buying or other business
transacted because visiting
and reminiscing will be the
main order of the day. Benches
will line the citv sidewalks to
relieve tired feet and promote
conversation. Old photographs
