EARLY CHILDHOOD.
Study of the development of language in children and the relationship of concepts
and verbal skills. Analysis of specific problems related to cultural diversities.
Emphasis on oral language as the foundation for reading.
Prerequisite: Six semester hours in Education. Three semester hours
EDUCATION 4344. STUDENT TEACHING IN THE KINDERGARTEN.
Directed observation and participation in the public schools at the kindergarten
level.
Prerequisites: Six semester hours from Edu 4314, 4324, 4334 or permission of
the Department of Education. Three semester hours
EDUCATION 4354. PROBLEMS IN KINDERGARTEN EDUCATION.
Exploration of problems in the education of four and five-year-olds. Emphasis
on identification of problems, relationship to developmental stages/experiential
background, and individualization through diagnostic teaching.
Prerequisites: Nine semester hours in Early Childhood Education plus kindergarten
experience or permission of the Department of
Education. Three semester hours
