BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
Women. This course is designed for classroom teachers,
administrators and students who intend to organize and direct
the health and physical education programs in the
school. Problems pertaining to organization and administration
will be studied, such as, objectives, types of programs,
supervision, selection of teachers, facilities, finance, publicity,
sports, etc. Three semester hours.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION 403. (Formerly P.E. 202.) ADVANCED METHODS.
Men and Women. This course includes the theory,
method, and practice of games for secondary schools and
recreational purposes. Prerequisite: P.E. 102. Three semester
hours.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION 404. (Formerly P.E. 206.) TESTS AND MEASUREMENTS
IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION. Men and Women. A
careful study will be made of the tests available in this field.
Practice will be afforded in making, giving, scoring and interpreting
physical tests. Three semester hours.
DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
PSYCHOLOGY 201. (Formerly 101.) GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY.
This is a course dealing with the fundamental facts and principles
of general psychology, designed as an introductory approach.
It is prerequisite to any other course in psychology. Three semester
hours.
PSYCHOLOGY 202. (Formerly 102.) APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY. An
attempt is made in this course to apply the facts of pure psychology
to the situations and problems of practical every day living.
Three semester hours.
PSYCHOLOGY 301. (Formerly 103.) PSYCHOLOGY OF CHILDHOOD.
This course deals with the behavior of children, with emphasis
on the biological background, and on the learning and
teaching processes involved in developing child behavior. Three
semester hours.
PSYCHOLOGY 302. (Formerly 104.) PSYCHOLOGY OF ADOLESCENCE.
Adolescent behavior, traits, and characteristics are stressed.
Three semester hours.
The following courses are open to students who have completed
six semester hours in psychology:
PSYCHOLOGY 303. (Formerly 201.) ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY.
