ART EDUCATION 403, 404. INVESTIGATION IN ART EDUCATION.
A methods and problems course open to all education majors
and teachers desiring to have a broader concept of the field of art
education. Six semester hours.
ART EDUCATION 405, 406. ADVANCED CRAFTS. Prerequisites:
Crafts 203 and Crafts 204, or equivalent. Advanced work in
designing and construction in various crafts media. Individual
interests pursued. Six semester hours.
APPLIED ART
APPLIED ART 101, 102. LIFE DRAWING. Fundamentals of
drawing and figure construction in charcoal and other selected
media. Required of all art majors. Six laboratory hours per week.
Three semester hours for each course.
APPLIED ART 103. DESIGN. Theory and practice of creative
design. A basic course in the fundamentals of color, design, and
drawing. Two lectures and four laboratory hours per week.
This course is recommended for all home economics and art
majors. Three semester hours.
APPLIED ART 104. CREATIVE COMPOSITION. Advanced theory
and problems of creative design. Practice with color, design, and
drawing as elements of pictorial composition. Two lectures and
four laboratory hours per week. Three semester hours.
APPLIED ART 201, 202. (Formerly Applied Art 200, 201.)
OIL PAINTING. Painting in oil from still life and the human figure.
Technical instruction in the principles of painting. Prerequisite:
life drawing and/or permission of instructor. Six laboratory hours
per week. Three semester hours for each course.
APPLIED ART 203, 204. (Formerly Applied Art 202, 203.)
WATER-COLOR PAINTING. Problems and instruction in the use of
this medium in landscape, composition, figure, etc. Prerequisite:
life drawing and/or permission of instructor. Three semester
hours for each course.
APPLIED ART 205, 206. (Formerly Applied Art 204, 205.)
SCULPTURE. Elementary instruction in the principles of sculpture.
Clay medium will be used in modeling portraits, compositions,
casting, and bas-relief and its relationship to architecture. Prerequisite:
life drawing and/or permission of instructor. Six laboratory
hours per week. Three semester hours for each course.
