BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 303. (Formerly 205). CHURCH ACCOUNTING
AND FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION. Application of accounting
principles and systems to the requirements of the
church. Emphasis on church budgets and financial reports. Detailed
records of the church maintained by the student throughout
the course of study. Three semester hours.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 304 (Same as Art Education 201).
ART FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES. This course is designed to acquaint
the ministerial student and the layworker with the history of
church art and architecture from ancient to modern times, and
to give him instruction in simple lettering, sign-making, chalk
talk, sand box technique, and vacation Bible school activities.
Three semester hours.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 401. (Same as Art Education 203).
CRAFTS. Simple weaving in cloth, reed, and fibre; clay modeling,
soap carving, and work with available metals are included in
this course. Laboratory hours to be arranged. Three semester
hours.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 402. (Same as Art Education 204).
This course gives instruction in various crafts used in clubs,
camps, and Vacation Bible School. It includes leather work, wood
carving, beadwork, simple games and puzzles, papier mache
work. Laboratory hours to be arranged. Three semester hours.

Objectives: The objectives of the Division of Business Administration
are: To provide the type of well-rounded professional
education necessary to increase the effectiveness of employees
and employers; to provide skill in the use of necessary
business tools; to provide a clear-cut sense of the social responsibility
which rests upon the business person, and his need for
adopting and using ethical business practices; to develop character
and bring out the best personality traits for successful business
leadership; to provide capable teachers of business subjects for
the high schools.68
