BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
the Club seeks to promote the understanding of home and family
life. This organization is in full cooperation with state and national
groups.
Life Service Band. The objectives are to carry the gospel of
Christ to the people of Texas and to show other young people
the wonders of serving God. Evangelistic programs are given in
the churches in this area.
Ministerial Alliance. This organization is engaged in deepening
the spiritual being of God-called men on the campus. Services
on the street and in the jail are sponsored affording a place of
service and fellowship for all ministers on the campus.
Volunteer Mission Band. This is a group of mission volunteers
banded together to grow spiritually and spread the gospel
to those around us. The Great Commission is our daily motto.
Urbanites. This club is established for girls living outside of
the dormitory with the purpose of bringing about more unity
between the "town" girls and those living in the dormitory.
Rifle and Pistol Club. It is the purpose of this club to promote
the safe and efficient use of firearms. It affords practice in
marksmanship.
Woman's Recreation Association. The purpose of this club
is to develop skills and favorable attitudes toward play that will
carry over and function during leisure time.
Circle K. This is a service club for college young men of
good scholastic standing and of good character. It is dedicated to
service in both school and civic affairs. It is sponsored by the
Kiwanis Club.
Jackets for Jesus. This club is made up of athletes of Howard
Payne College who feel that their main purpose in life is to serve
their Saviour. The boys want others to know the joy of accepting
and living for Jesus. They feel that the least they can do is
live for Christ, since he died for us.
Students are not permitted to set up new organizations without
the approval of the Faculty and the Students' Association.
BOARD AND ROOM
All boarding students must pay a $10.00 room reservation fee
when rooms are reserved. This fee will be retained by the college
as a deposit against damage until the close of the scholastic
year. It is not to be returned unless the room reservation is cancelled
30 days before the opening of school.35
