An introduction to research methods and their application to research problems. Prerequisite:
A course in statistics or tests and measurement. (Same as Bib. M6319, Ed. 6311, and Psy. 6311).
6320. Communication Research Methods.
Research methods used in communication. Emphasis on the scientific methods, survey research,
laboratory research, sampling procedures, questionnaire construction, and interviewing techniques.
Prerequisite: Psy. 3356 or equivalent.
6340. History of Radio and Telelvision.
Development of radio and telelvision from beginning to the present, including technological
progress of the media, world systems of broadcasting, and international broadcasting.
6342. Seminar in Mass Communication.
In-depth study of various problems and concepts in communication.
6398, 6698. Research Project-Thesis Equivalent.
To be presented, with departmental approval, in lieu of the traditional thesis. May consist of
two projects, each carrying three semester hours credit, or one project carrying six semester
hours credit.
