Abilene Christian College
for the student to secure a permanent elementary certificate after
four years of successful teaching, provided it is ordered during the
life of the six year elementary certificate.
Students who do not follow the procedure outlined above may,
in addition to the work they have taken in elementary education,
complete six semester hours in secondary education and receive a
four year high school certificate. This certificate may be exchanged
for a permanent high school certificate after three years of successful
teaching following graduation from college.
Students who select elementary education as a major may take
nine semester hours in the field of secondary education and receive
a permanent high school certificate upon graduation.
All students selecting education as a major are required to
register for a seminar course in education which meets two hours
per week for one semester. The seminar course does not carry
credit and is open only to seniors.
