Scholarships.-Two scholarships are offered annually, one in
the Demonstration School and one in the College. In each case the
scholarship goes to the student making the highest average, deportment
included. These scholarships are worth $100 in tuition, allowable
$25 each semester for the first four semesters after it is granted.
The Cox Prize in Extempore Speaking.-In memory of his father,
Van Buren Cox, and his mother, Julia Minerva Cox, James F.
Cox offers each year a gold medal to the young man winning in an
extempore speaking contest held April 2. The subjects must be chos
