a rule, three or more courses will be required in a subject
before an advanced course may be taken.
GRADES AND POINTS.
The standing of the student is expressed in terms of grades
and points. The grades are made up of class work, papers,
quizzes, and examinations. The letters A-plus, A, A-minus,
B-plus, B, B-minus, C-plus, C, D, and E will be used.
For each course (60 recitation-hours) completed with a
grade of A-plus, thirteen points will be given; with a grade
of A, ten points; A-minus, eight points; B-plus, six points;
B, five points; B-minus, four points; C-plus, two points, and
C, one point. Each student will be required to make one hundred
and eighty points while taking his thirty-six courses.
The grade D is condition and the grade E is failure. Any
course taken in which a grade of E is made must be taken
over. All incomplete courses will be regarded as D until
they are completed. All continuous or incomplete courses
must be completed within a year of the time they are begun.
AMOUNT OF WORK WHICH MAY BE TAKEN.
1. The first term a student is in Abilene Christian College,
he will be permitted to take only fifteen or sixteen hours.
The regular student should plan to take fifteen or sixteen
hours work. It is understood that previous records will be
considered; and if the previous records justify, eighteen hours
may be taken.
2. As many as seventeen or eighteen hours may be taken
in the second term, or in any term following a term in which
fifteen or sixteen hours was taken, on condition the work of
the previous term averaged B plus, and that no grade was
below C.
3. As many as nineteen or twenty hours may be taken
provided the student took seventeen or eighteen hours the
previous term and provided further that no grade was below
B-plus, and that an average of A was made on the seventeen
or eighteen hours.
4. It is understood that whatever grades are necessary
to get into any particular group, the 17 and 18 or 19 and 20
group, must be maintained in order to remain in this group._ _
