SESSION OF 1918-'19
sions and vocations are brought here for the benefit of the students
of the city.
Abilene is the commercial and professional center of Central West
Texas and the men who make it such give our schools both their
financial and their moral support. Students are surrounded by truly
"big men," and these men are of a very high order from the viewpoint
of morals and culture.
EQUIPMENT
There are three vital factors in every school. The standard and
efficiency of the school are measured in terms of each or of all of
these. Every school must have a faculty, equipment, and a student
body. VWe feel sure that after you have noted the excellency of our
faculty and our equipment in buildings and courses offered, you
will resolve to constitute a part of the third essential factor-namely,
the student body.
PRESENT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
Our College building is a new, modern, well veltilated, well
lighted brick structure, with two stories and a basement. It was recently
thoroughly finished and repaired and furnished. The chapel is
seated with comfortable opera chairs. The class rooms are furnished
with good lecture chairs and equipped with excellent blackboards,
maps, etc.
DAISY HALL
This is a three story brick structure, modern and first class in
every respect. It is heated with steam and lighted with electricity.
There are baths, with hot and cold water on each floor. Each floor
has completely equipped toilet rooms. Each room has individual
clothes closets and a lavatory with running water. Most of the rooms
are furnished with single beds, and all of these with home-like furniture.
The reception parlor, library and dining room are decorated
with Sister Sewell's beautiful oil, pastel and water color pictures and
hand-painted china. The library contains Brother Sewell's excellent
collection of more than seven hundred books.
Brother and Sister Sewell live in the building, with other members
of the faculty, and give their very best thought and efforts to
making it a pleasant and wholesome home for all girls who are entrusted
to their care.
ZELLNER HALL
This is a modern two-story brick building, first class in every way.
The rooms are large and well arranged. Each room has two large
windows and a good closet. There is running water in each room
