SESSION OF 1918-'19
Library Deposit-A library deposit of $5.00 must be made on matriculation.
This will be returned at the end of the school year, except
any part that may be deducted for loss of books or for keeping
them out over time. Books may be kept out for seven days, except
those on reference shelves, which may be kept out one hour only. A
fine of five cents per day will be charged for regular books kept over
time, and of ten cents per hour for reserve shelf books not returned on
time. This is a protection to the student himself as well as to the
library.
ORGANIZATIONS
The advantages of attending college are not confined to the text
books. Students need some sort of work outside of their regular
school work. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Change
of occupation, and not idleness, rests and develops the mind. Believing
co-operation and organization necessary in order that the most good
may be realized, we require each student to become a member of at
least one of the student organizations.
GLEE CLUB
This organization is maintained for the purpose of developing
singers among our boys.
LYRIC CLUB
This organization is composed of young women. The club furnishes
some splendid musical programs.
ORCHESTRA
All students who play orchestral instruments are urgently requested
to bring them along. There is nothing that adds to the
pleasures of student life more than a good orchestra.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB
The Foreign Language Club will meet the second Tuesday of each
school month for a program which will be conducted largely in
foreign languages. This club aims to give encouragement and interest
to language study and to offer additional opportunities for conversation.
A banquet, conducted entirely in foreign languages, is planned
for the last meeting.
THE A CLUB
The membership of this club is based entirely upon merit. Only
those students who win honors for A. C. C. in athletics or forensics13
