Strayer's A Brief Course in the Teaching Process; Baglet s Classroom
Management, and Thorndike's Principles of Teaching.
EDUCATION 13.
Fall Term. Three Hours a Week.
Psychology of Adolescence. During this term a study will be
made of the principles of Psychology, with special reference to
the light which they throw on problems of ihe high school. The
structure of the brain and other parts of the nervous system will
receive special attention, with readings, experiments and class reports.Prerequisite.-Sophomore standing.
EDUCATION 14.
winter Term. Three Hours a Week.
High School Methods. This is a course in general methods of
high school instruction. It dcals with methods common to all
high school subjects, such as acquiring motor control, forming
habits of reflective thinking, methods of drill, supervised study,
skill in questioning, and measurement of results. Observation and
practice teaching will be required.
Prerequisite.-Sophomore standing.
EDUCATION 15.
Spring Term. Three Hours a Week.
Child Study. This last term will be devoted to a study of the
child in the different periods of development. Individual children
will be studied as types and various tests administered in class.
Text.-Norsworthy and Whitley, Psychology of Childhood.
Outside readings and reports will be required.
Prerequisite.-Sophomore standing.
EDUCATION 16.
Advanced Course. Fall Term. Three Hours a Week.
History of Education. During this term a study will be made
of ancient and medieval education. A brief survey will be made33
