Examinations. Grades and Reports.
The last week of each term, or as much as may be required,
is devoted to examinations, except that the final examinations in
Senior subjects are held one week in advance of others.
Examinations count one-third of the term grade. But, to pass
in a course, the student must make at least 60 on both examination
and the class standing, considered separately.
A student averaging below 50 on a course will not be allowed
to continue the course or take a more advanced one. A student
making below 50 on a term examination will not be granted reexamination.All examinations are written; 3 hours are allowed for each.
Seniors who make an average of as much as B during the Winter
Term on any subject, except required Freshman and Sophomore
studies, and a class standing of as much as B up to one week of
the Spring Term examinations,will be exempt from final examinations
in that subject.
Reports of the work of each student are sent to parents or
guardian at the middle and end of each term. The grades are
given by special letters: A being 90 to 100; B, 80 to 89; C, 70
to 79; D, 60 to 69; E, 50 to 59; F, below 50.
The Effects of Failing in Courses.
In order to remain in College, students must make a passing
grade in at least half their courses.
Students forced to withdraw from College on account of this
rule will not be received until the opening of the session following,
when they may enter on probation as to their class work.
A student who makes F on a course cannot continue the course.
A student who makes an E on a course may take an examination,
or, if the course is continuous, he may raise the E to a D by
making a C on the next ternr's work.
Deficiencies.
A student making F in any term must repeat the work, and
students making E may repeat the work or stand re-examination.27
