“see and talk to a couple thou-
sand people” at the job fair
according to Jim Disimonia

gram job assistance center.
Disimonia said “at JAC we
teach resume writing using the
HOSEE method.” Heading.

and phone number.

E Education. This is a combi-
nation of civilian and military
education.
On experience and educa-
tion list your current job and
most recent classes first. It is
okay to mix military and civil-
ian education and experiences.
The resume paints a picture of
what you can do what you
have learned and how well
you can do your job.
THE KEY to writing a good
resume is planning. Before you
start consider these several
factors.
Think where you want to be
in five years and what you
need to do to get there. The
resume is the first step to get-
ting the job that puts you on
the road to success. Consider
where you want to live the
salary you expect housing
cost health benefits and insur-
ance costs. The Army has been
taking care of these items for
you but once you leave the
Army they become your re-
sponsibility and need your con-
sideration.
Another resume key is put-
ting your summary experience

and education in terms the re-
cruiter can understand. Disi-
monia said soldiers speak a
different language. Soldiers are
challenged to capture their
military jobs awards and edu-
cation in the recruiter’s lan-
guage.
Job fair recruiters know the
value of the soldier in the work
place. Pete Laessig says sol-
diers have good work habits.
“They get to work on time.
They are dependable. They
come with skills or they are
trainable” he said. “These are
qualities employers want.”
The JAC is offering special
evening classes to help sol-
diers Department of the Army
civilians and family members
develop job search skills. Inter-
view class will be 6-8 p.m.
April 1 8 and 15. Resume
preparation workshops will be
held 6 8 p.m. April 2 and 9.
Class size is limited and pre-
registration is required. Call
287-JOBS (5627).
REMEMBER YOUR re-
sume is the picture of your job
experience skills abilities and
training. Paint a Rembrandt.
