spent Sunday and Monday with
the Frank Engledows. Also visit-
ing Monday with the Engledows
wereMr. and Mrs. Wayne Engle-
dow of Houston.
Those visiting over the week-
end with the Chas. R. Murphy's
were Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Acrey
and Alan McCandless of Houston;
Mrs. Clara Ferguson of Nacogdo-
ches, and Paul Osborne of Rusk.
Sunday afternoon guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Eddie Emmons and Mr.
Green Murphy of Tyler, Mrs.
John Copeland and Debbie.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rice and
daughter of Buna, Mr. and Mrs.
David Rice, Mr. and Mrs. Billy
Joe Killion and son of Denton,
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Oden and
son of Tyler were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Rice. Dinner guests Sunday
were Mr. and Mrs. George Rice
and sons of Nacogdoches. Also
visiting in the home for a few
weeks is Mrs. Rice's mother,
Mrs. O'Quinn of Lufkin.
Mrs. Frances Williams and chil-
dren were in Rockdale over the
week-end visiting Mrs. Eugene
Wolfe and other relatives.
William Dossett of Waco and
Mr. Will Dossett of Jacksonville,
visited Saturday with Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Ditto.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carr and
children of Houston, spent the
week-end with Mrs. Carr's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Newton
Choate. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Choate and son of Rusk visited
Monday with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Riley Morris and
children, Mrs. Floyd Blevins and
daughter, Barbara. MM. H. P.
Narromore and children of Mt.
Pleasant were week-end guests of
Mr. and Mrs. George Morris and
Florene.
It was gord to have so many'
visitors in the church service Sun-
day morning at Old Palestine.
Being Mother's Day, all the moth-
ers were recognized and a tribute
to mothers, both living and dead,
was given in the message by the
pastor. Mrs. Gerald Rice was
recognized and presented a cor-
sage for having the most children
present. Mrs. Jerry Glenn Rice
was the youngest mother and was
presented a corsage. Mrs. Clara
Ferguson was presented a cor-
sage for being the oldest mother.
The Gerald Rice family added
much to the servicc—Jerry Glenn
bringing the devotion for the S.S.
assembly, David paying tribute to
the most wonderful mother in the
world ' His Mother." Mr. George
Rice of Nacogdoches was teacher
for the Men's Bible Class for his
brother, Gerald. Mr. and Mrs.
Morris were happy to have their
children and their families in the
church service. Mrs. [Harry Ditto's
children and grandchildren were
present and seated with her.
Come to church and S. S. Sun-
day morning and bring some one
with you. A welcome is extend-
ed to those who visit in our com-
munity to be with us in our wor-
ship service.
