Palmer had a double runaway
Monday night. T. L Griffin,
the telegraph operator there, and
Miss Laura Blocker were at theMulkey meeting that night and
after services got into a surry

the young lady's parents objected
to the match. As they were
descending a hill one of the
traces came loose, causing the
horses to run, throwing them all
out in a pile. The young gentleman
and lady accompanying the
bride and groom got the worst of
the fall, receiving some painful,
though not serious bruises. They
returned to Palmner, secured two
buggies and resumed their journey.

India, Tex., July 22.-Our dry
spell was somewhat broken on the
evening of the 17 by a very nmce
little shower that wet the ground
to the depth of 2
inches. It ws
a pretty good cotton shower for th?
time, but is about gone now. The
cotton crop of this part is fine,
Corn is made and is not anything
extra. lEarly corn is fine, but late
corn is almost a failure andc! a good,
part of the crop generally is late.

soon resuscitated by the cooler
heads that were present.

has been wearing a dirty shirt. IHe
had better wear his coat hereafter.
