GENERAL APPROPRIATION, 42ND LEGISLATURE.
S. B. No. 524.] CHAPTER 24.
An Act appropriating the sum of Two Hundred Thousand ($200,000.00)
Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, payable out of the
General Revenue and not otherwise appropriated, to pay the per diem
of members, and to pay the salaries and per diem of officers and employees
of the 42nd Legislature of the State of Texas; and declaring
an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the sum of Two Hundred Thousand ($200,000.00)
Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and
the same is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the Treasury
not otherwise appropriated for the payment of per diem
of the members of the Legislature, and the payment of the salaries
of the officers and employees of the 42nd Legislature of the
State of Texas.
SEC. 2. The fact that the original appropriation for the above
purpose made by the 42nd Legislature will soon be exhausted
creates an emergency and an imperative public necessary that
the Constitutional Rule requiring bills to be read on three several
days in each House be suspended, and said Rule is hereby
suspended, and this Act shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, and it is so enacted.
