CREATING THE COAHOMA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN HOWARD COUNTY.
H. B. No. 403.] CHAPTER 140.
An Act to create the Coahoma Independent School District in Howard
County, Texas, including therein the present Common School District
No. 2 of Howard County; providing a board of trustees therefor, vesting
said Coahoma Independent School District board of trustees with
all the rights, powers, priveleges and duties conferred upon independent
school districts incorporated under the General Laws of Texas;
providing for the validation of all current contracts of the said Common
School District No. 2, as the subsisting obligations and acts
of the Coahoma Independent School District as created by this Act;
providing for an election to determine as to the assumption of outstanding
bonded indebtedness of territory hereby incorporated, as herein
set out; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the Coahoma Independent School District
is hereby created and established in Howard County, Texas, including
therein the territory of the present Common School
District No. 2 of Howard County, with metes and bounds as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Section No. 22, Block
No. 31, Township 1-South of the Texas and Pacific Railway
Co. surveys in Howard County, Texas. Thence northerly along
the west boundary lines of Sections 22, 15, 10, and 3 in Block
No. 31, Township 1-South of the said T. thence northerly along the
west boundary lines of said Section No. 23, and of Section 14
in same block and township as said Section No. 23, to the northwest
corner of said Section 14, thence easterly along the northern
boundary lines of said Section No. 14 and of Section No.
13 both being in said Block No. 31, Township 1-North of the
T.
