Delegate Kunzraan Tells a Light Man
What wasfDone and Seen In
Pittsburg.
Mr. Theo. Kunzman who was a dele-
gate from the San Antonio Typograph-
ical Union to the International Typo-
graphical Union recently held In Pitts-
burg returned home last night lie
reports that there were 123 delegates In
convention representing 23000 printers
and that the convention sat five days
and five nights doing considerable Im-
rortant business. The convention unnn-
mously endorsed the action of the local
union In respect to tbe recent strike up-
on the Times.
Mr. Kunzman also reports the Inter-
national union as being very friendly to
the Knights or Labor and willing to co-
operate with them although they are
not disposed to amalgamate with them.
Mr. Powderly'a representative Mr.
Dewey of Detroit addressed tbe con-
vention on behalf of tbe KnlghtB or La-
bor and was favorably received.
Pittsburg Mr. Kunzman says Is a
manufacturing city containing 180000
inhabitants situated between the Mo-
nongabela and Alleghany rivers Al-
leghany city on the opposite side or the
river Is practically a portion or Pitts-
burg and contains 00000 Inhabitants It
Is a live go-ahead town and on every
side you can see Industrial evidences of
Its greatness. The Knights of Labor
are very strong there being 100 lodges
and It Is estimated that there aro nearly
100000 Knights In the city. Tbe Im-
mense best required for furnaces etc. Is
supplied mainly by natural gas and as a
result there Is no smoke and the city
has lost Its right to the title of smoky
Pittsburg.

What tho Travellers Did and What
They ;Report.
Mr.C. W. Clawsoji and Dr. Barnitz
have returned from their Iloerne trip
and are busily engaged In applying
arnica to relieve the stage bruises re-
ceived In transit. They are considerably
fatigued owing to tbe fact that they
were looated about hair a mile from
where liquid refreshments are sold and
frequent Journey between those points
was neoessarlly fatiguing. They were
anxious to Hud those ''falls" and
searched tbe pasture for them; they
didn't find the falls but they found an
Irate steer who objected to Intruders
and tbelr running powers were exhibit-
ed In full force. Tbey report Iloerne as
being a very quiet place but the citi-
zens are considerably enthusiastic over
the railroad matter. Tbelr llshlng does
not appear to have been a success. Dr.
Barnitz managed to entice a minnow
three Inches long out of the water and
Mr. Clawson after considerable exertion
bagged a turtle weighing two ounces
These they intended to exhibit to the
world as a monument of tbelr piscatory
art but cbarlty prevailed and they
placed tbem tenderly In the stream In
order that they might have a chance to
grow up with the country.
