A. L. Riding and wife of Ama-
rillo came in on Monday's train and
are visiting friends in town. Mr. Rid-

B. T. Hinton is renovating his
cofectionery store and giving it a
thorough over hauling, preparatory
to the coming summer bussiness in
the cold drink, ice cream and con-
fectionery line.
Fred Spikes, who was shot in New
México some time ago' stopped over
at Hotel Center Wednesday night.
He and his brother were on their
way home from Hereford, where
Fred has been since he got shot.
Last Sunday was the first time he
has left his room.—Hale Center

J. W. Francis returned from Here-
ford Monday with a lame leg swing-
ing from his shoulder. Not much
difficulty, however, in unloading it
from the hack. No splintering of
the limb was necessary, but a lot of
padding brought the patient round
all right. He will recover.—Lock-

J. E. Nix was a business caller in
town Tuesday.
T. J. Blades of Castro county was
in town Tuesdayon business.
Jim Williams was in from his
Castro county steer ranch on Tues-
day.

E. F. Connell came in from his
Endee, N. M., ranch on Tuesday
and left the following day for a

L. D. Thomason of Amanillo was
registered at the Hereford House on
Tuesday.
C. V. Walker was in from his
Tierra Blanca river ranch on Tues-
day, being registered at the Here-
ford House.
Albert Combs was a guest of the
Hereford House this week. While
here he purchased a disc cultivator
from Galbreath, Fox & Co.
W. B. Robinson returned Tuesday
from a visit to his ranch 25 miles
northwest of town. He says every-
thing in in fine shaye and that grass
is coming fast.

in town Tuesday.
J. 0. Lindsey was in from his
ranch on Tuesday after supplies.
C. E. Wheeler was in from his

W. B. Mersfeilder and J. J. Cal-
vert were among the Bovina resi-
dents who registered at the Here-
ford House on Tuesday.

The postoffice has been moved
from its former locetion in the rear
of B. T. Hinton's confectionery
store across the street in the build-
ing formerly occupied by Bradly &
Eads. As soon as the new bank
building of Smith, Walker & Co. is
finished Postmaster Montgomery will
have permanent quarters in the rear
of that building.
