girls and boys rodeo team saw
competition this past weekend at
Oklahoma State University in
Stillwater. The girls gained 310
points while the boys gained
337 1/3 points in their inter-
collegiate rating.

The Tarleton boys arc cur-
rently in second place with

Mexico is leading with 2,321.
Weightmen Win Trophies
The Texan Powerlifting Team
grabbed a second and a fourth
place trophy -at Houston last
week competing against state and
national champions.
Carl Gabbard, coach of the
powerlifting team, got second in
the open 198 lb. class. Gabbard
will be returning to the state
championships in June to defend
his number one ranking in the
state.
Robert Jones took fourth in
the amateur 165 lb. division at
The powerlifting team, com-
posed of eight members, will
be traveling to Fort Worth for
the North Texas Open, April 17.
The team will finish their sched-
ule in Austin at the state champ
pionship, June 5.
Houston. He and John Getteli
will compete in the amateur di-
visions in Austin at the state
meet.
