APO Sponsors 'Beauty & Beast' Contest

The annual APO-sponsored
Ugly Man on Campus' contest,
,wl ch has been renamed this
;year the 'Beauty and the Beast'
contest, will be kicked off April
; 12.
Various clubs and organiza-
tions on campus will be com-
peting to have their representa-
tives elected 'Beauty and Beast.'
Voting begins April 12 and runs
through April 19 in the Student
Center.
Pictures of the contestants
along with their 'ballot boxes'
will be featured. The winner will
be selected on the basis of votes.
Students may vote for their fa-
vorite by placing money in the
appropriate boxes. The ballots
will be counted on the basis of
a penny per vote.
The winners are to be an-
nounced at the UMOC Follies
on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the
Main Auditorium. This year's
Follies will feature the. Trouba-
dours, who will perform before
and after the announcement of
the winners.
Student clubs and organiza-
tions and independents should
sign up for talent entries in the
UMOC Follies. Tables will be set
up in the Tarleton Center on
Monday and Tuesday to accept
entries. Prizes will be awarded in
. both categories, according to au-
dience applause.
Tickets may be purchased
from APO or Gamma Sigma
Sigma members.

Pre-Counsel ing Plans Finalized

A pre-counscling program has
been scheduled for those stu-
dents who have definite plans
for returning to Tarleton next
fall." April 12 through May 7

ing time with department advis-
ors.
The counselor will list courses
the student plans to take next
fall, on the assignment card. Ad-

Students Cast Ballots Today
For All TSC Man & Woman
The final election for All-
Tarleton Man and Woman is un-
derway today as three men and
three women have been nomin-
ated, for the title.
Selected in voting Monday
which members of the elections
committee could only describe
as 'very light,' were Jerry Cox,
graduate ag major from Paradise;
Mitchell Harris, senior ag ed ma-
jor from Breckenridge; and Larry
Paul, senior biology major from
Colorado City. Women nomi-
nees were Jan Breland, senior
history major from Seymour^
Zana Underwood, junior phys.
ed, major from Fort Worth; and
Christi Young, a junior English
major from Petersburg.
* Cox is treasurer of the Los
-Cobbs, president ofethe^S.twd^nt -
Senate, a member of FFA and
TTP, and is listed in Who's Who
in American Colleges and Univer-
sities. He holds a B.S. degree
from Tarleton.
Harris is a member of the
Lords and Commoners, FFA,
TTP, Alpha Zeta, vice-president
of the Student Seriate, a dormi-
tory counselor and is listed in
Who's Who.
Paul is head cheerleader, a
member of Los Cobbs, and is
on the Student Senate.
Miss Breland is president of
O.W.L.S., a member of Alpha
Chi, TTS, serves on the Student
Senate, and is a member of the
Social Science Club.
Also in O.W.L.S. is Zana Un-
derwood. In addition, she is a
cheerleader, member of Tri-Beta,
TTS, serves on the Student Sen-
ate, and is listed in Who's Who.
Rounding out the list of nom-
inations is Christi Young, presi-
dent of E.T.E.R.N.A.S., Student
Senate secretary, a member of
TTS and the English Club, a
cheerleader, and is listed in Who's -
Who.
Balloting will continue
through 4:00 p.m. this after-
noon, and the election results
will be announced in the J-TAC.

Reservations for dorm rooms
for the 1971 fall semester star-
ted last Thursday, April 1. Any
student wishing to live in a dorm

The election for Student Body
President and Vice-President will
be held on April 21.
In order to run for one of
these offices^the-student must
obtain a note indicating good
academic standing from the re-
gistrar's office and .submit a pe-
tition signed by at least twenty-
five supporters. The note and
petifiop must be turned in to the
Dean of Student Personnel Ser-
vices at least ton days prior to
the election.
The President must be of
senior standing during his term
'of office and the Vice-President,;
a junior or above.
