El qual dicho traslado se saco del testimonio original que se
boluio a el dicho hernan gallegos escriuano de su pedimiento y de
mandamiento del mui Excelente senor Visorrey desta nueva
Espafia e va cierto e verdadero En la ciudad de Mexico a ocho dias
del mes de Noviembre de mill y quinientos e ochenta e dos afios
testigos que fueron presentes a lo ver sacar corregir e concertar
pedro de valencia e luis de Ribera estantes en esta cuidad.

In the Province of San Felipe,4 on the tenth day of the month

Chamuscado, who had been commissioned by His Excellency Don
Lorenzo Suarez de Mendoza, County of Corufia, viceroy, governor,
and captain-general for His Majesty in this New Spain, having
learned that Father Juan de Santa Maria, a friar of the Order of St.
Francis, desired to depart without the permission of his guardian5
