while the elevation ranging from
1900 to 2800 feet assures an air
absolutely devoid of malaria.
Mosquitoes are practically un-
known save in tho river bottoms
and in places where man has es-
tablished sumo local cause for
their presence.
VS CONCLUSION.
There are home for all with
ample "elbow room" for years to
come in the "Great Concho
Country. Every good man of in-
dustrious hubits is welcome. We
want no drones as we possess ul-
ready more of that class than we
need: few thank Heaven but
scarce as tlioy are a mighty
superabundance.

sunk. The booming of cannon is heard near Tuson and
it is only a matter of a very Bhort while when hostilities
will begin on a big ecalo.
A special from Dallas this afternoon to T. H. Mc-
Closkey says that the Japanese fleet has captured and
crippled three Russiun war ships oil' Port Arthur.
Seoul Feb. 8. According to roports recoived hero
the Japanese lleet has already loftSiiBoho and now is some-
where between Rusan and Chemulpo oil' tho Korean coast.
The report immediately started a rumor that Japan would
first send part of its lleet of warships to Chemulpo and
that a consequent collision between Japan and the
Korean government was to bo expected. Those reports
have created the greatest disturbance iu tho Korean court
and preparations are hurriedly made from tho emperor
down for immediate' flight.
