minutes. There will be
Special Thanks to the War
Whoop staff. what's next?
The War Whoop staff
have been instrumental
in assembling each of
this yeais issues.
Our most prolific
writer Lyndie Conner has
wiitten many thought
provoking opinion
articles. Her clever sense
of humor has made
us look at ourselves
and those around us in
new revealing ways.
All students in the
desktop publishing class
have contributed to the
paper's layout and to
finding content. Dorothy
Young has done our
proofing and calendars.
Josh Childs and Nicole
Loney - first pages;
Louis Jones and Nick
Schafer - sports; Jacob
Evving and Mike Ingram
- opinion pages; Tad
Thomas and Ty Sellers
- clubsorganiations.
The paper is a
daunting task but an
important one. Each
issue is cataloged in the
school library and serves
as a permanent record
of McMurry's history.
The paper introduced
its on-line version this
year to great success.
to all of you. and in fact
I'm positic this only
applies to seniors but
whatever you hopefully
have applied to graduate.
If you haven't'.... well...
see ou next year?
4. Get a Job-this
one applies to just about
everybody. Summer jobs
ate an important thing
to have unless mommy
and daddy are footing the
bill for our summer fun.
and in that case are they
looking to adopt'.' Like
sa me? Seriously though
il you're graduating
this is paiticularly
important and if you're
not then hey having
extra cash isn't too bad.
cookies and beverages.
Thirteen tieshmen
will be inducted
into Alpha Lambda
Delta for outstanding
academic work.
Forty four juniors and
seniors will be inducted
into Alpha Chi on the
basis of excellent grades
Polls and paper counts
show that the majority
of readers do so using
the on-line version. We
are testing an on-line
version that is 8.5 x 14
inches. This PDF version
is designed for people to
print their own papers.
We are also testing
a .Mac account with the
ability to add blogging.
chat rooms and video
conferencing to the on-
line publication. Polls
tell us students would
be more likely to take
part in the paper if the
news were more timely.
And lastly this new
server will stream audio
and video. We are working
with theatre music
and CAB as well as
administration to set up a
beta version of a McMurry
internet television and
radio station with FM
broadcasting to follow.
In short we have had
a great year with many
new advances that use the
skills of many talented
students. The next year
looks to provide even
more of what students
want from a news
provider. ALA CUMB A!
5. Call the Friends-
have one last get together
with the friends. Before
you all disperse for
home get together and do
.something fun. I know
finals and what not get
in the way of that at the
end of the semester but
you don't want your
last spring '06 memory
with your friends to be
cramming for your exams.
6. Study-the ear's
not over vet my friends
and finals arc approaching
eiy quickly so maybe
start the studying process
a little befoie dead day...
7. Plan-whether
you're graduating or just
starting your college

and good character.
Please come share
these moments of well
deserved celebration
with students and their
friends and relatives.
Your presence will
encourage traits of
excellence in "our kids.'
Dr. Lenoir will
be our guest speaker.
Dr. Russell's years of
dedication to higher
education will be
recognized with an
honorary membership
in Alpha Chi.
