Sigma Nu Lambda
offers study session
Sigma Nu Lambda a McMurry
College social organization for
non-traditional students will con
duct a Dead Week StudyHelp
Session on Thursday Dec. 8 from
(6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Snack Bar of
Ithc United Methodist Campus
Center.
Club members who hope the
session will become an annual
event note that the purpose is tcj
aid all students who may ncccl
questions answered or help inj
preparing for final exams.
Faculty members have been
invited to attend and help stu
dents in the session.
Rush activities slated
Through spring seems an eter-
nity away members of men's and
women's social clubs are already
planning Spring Rush activities.
Rush is a three week period when
clubs arc open to prospective
members.
Rush for women's clubs will
start Thursday January 26 with a
tea in the foyer of the Ryan Fine
Arts Building. Any woman who is
interested in pledging must at-
tend this tea or be excused by
Dean Gage Paine.
The week of January 30
through February 1 will be coke
parties open to all women who
participated in Rush Tea. Rush
parties will be held February 6-8
and are by invitation only. Wo-
men will sign preference cards to
indicate their club choice on
February 9 and bids will be
signed February 10. All six
women's clubs will participate.
The men's clubs will hold
smokers from January 30 through
Fcbraury 9. These arc by invi
tation only. Men then sign their
bids on February 10 also. All six
active men's clubs and one in-
active group Kiva have planned
smokers.
In order to be eligible to
pledge all students must be full
time students and have com-
pleted at least 12 hours at
McMurry. A 2.0 g.p.a. on all
college work is also required. Any
inquiries about clubs or pledging
should be directed to the Student
Service Office in Old Main.

performance set
The St. John's School Choir
consisting of approximately 70
fifth sixth and seventh graders
will perform in concert for McMur
ry College faculty students and
staff at a Brown Bag Luncheon
Tuesday (126) in the Rvan Fine
Arts Center's Little Theater at 12
The choir under the direction
of St. John's music instructor
Mrs. Sylvia German will perform
four Christmas carols followed
by three carols from other count-
ries presented by each of the
three grade levels then four more
Christmas carols by the entire
choir'.
The fifth grade singers will
perform an English Christmas
canon or round with bells. The
sixth graders will sing an old
fashioned Irish Christmas carol
and the seventh grade section will
sing an African noel.
