Spring hns been n busy time
for the Chanters one of the most
well known groups on campus.
The group continues to remain
active and will start their
spring tour which will be one of
the highlights of the year on
March 22 when they will give
their first performance at St.
John'rt United Methodist
Church The performance will
involve a city wide service with
nil churches participating
The Chanters are known for
their work with "demanding
choral literature" as well ns
their rendition of modern sacred
works In their tour the group
will perform various types of
music including the National
Anthem Sing Ye to The Lord
Kappa Delta
Pi To Meet
There will be a Kappa Delta
Pi meeting today March 23. It
will be held in Room 202 Old
Mnin We will be electing offic-
ers for next year and discussing
the possibility of a Spnng Get-
Together There are also several
other items on the agenda that
require the attention of as many

Scientist To
Speak Tomorrow
The public is invited to hear
noted scientist Dunne H. D. Rol-
ler speak at 1 1 30 a.m. Friday
March 2-t in the Recital Hall of
the Amy Graves Ryan Fine Arts
Center at McMurry College. Dr.
Roller will speak on The Origins
of Science in Creek Antiquity.
Dr Roller's appearance is
being sponsored by the science
and math division at McMurry.
He is McCusland Professor of
the History of Science at the
University of Oklahoma where
he also serves as curator of the
history of science collections.
Medical Schools
Accept Three
Three Big Country residents
will be using their McMurry
College degrees as entree into
medical and dental schools this
rail.
Karen Kemper of Coleman a
1977 McMurry graduate hns
been accepted by the University
of Texas Medical School in Gal-
vehton. to begin classes August
30.
Bill Pierpont of Abilene and

enter the University of Texns
Dental School in Sun Antonio in

Leaving Abilene on March 26
the Changers will visit such
places as Arlington Texas; Vic-
ksburg Mississippi; Hnrtsclle
Alabama; Atlanta Georgia;
Pensacola Florida; Mobile
Alabama; Lafayette
Louisiannn and Disney tyorld.
The tour will be ended by one
of the highpoints of the spring
semester: the Chanters will give
a home-coming concert at Al-
dersgate United Methodist
Church which will be held at
eight o'clock P.M. April 4.
Student Publications
Attend T.I.P.A. Convention
Representatives from the
WAR WHOOP the TOTEM the
McMurry yearbook and the
GALLEON McMurry Literary
Magazine will be in Brown wood
Apnl 6-8 for the Texas Intercol-
legiate Press Association con-
vention Staff members from the three
publications have entered arti-
cles and photographs in various
categories in the Division II con-
tests. Students from numerous
other Texas schools have en-
tered as well. Awards will be
presented at a Saturday morn-
ing luncheon.
Dr. Sharp Leads Work
Trip To Old Mexico
Dr A. C. Sharp professor of
physics is sponsoring a trip of
the Christian Outreach stu-
dents to Pueblo Mexico which
is about eight miles south of
Mexico City. The students will
spend their spring break doing
missionary work for a small
mission about two miles from
the city of Pueblo.
The group will be lenving
Thursdny Mnrch 23 for tho
Mexican City of about 200000
people. After their work is com-
pleted they will be arriving back
home Sunday April 2 according
to Dr. Sharp. Tho students who
will be attending Dr. Sharp are
Elisa Black Layloni Drake. Hill
Johnson Gay Morgan Cynthia
Rucker Trendy Sharp Alfredo
Cesar who has known the mis-
sionaries there for many years
and will be working as an in-
terpreter and Dr. Sharp's son
Mark Sharp who is attending
junior high school.
Tho student's main job will bo
the construction of a basketball
court for the children of tho mis-
sion. They will work about five
days on the court and go sight
seeing for two days.
Dr. Sharp said that the group
would have Easter worship at
the mission with tho mexican
congreation.
