Indians Whip Greyhounds
Twice In Season Closers
The McMurry Indians closed
out regular season play last week-
end in Indian Gym with two
wins over their Texas Conference
league foes ENMU by the scores
of 90-76 and 92-70 These two
wins set the Tribesmen's season
record at 8 wins and 17 losses.
Their Conference record of 7 wins
and 1 loss was enough to give
them the league championship
With Coach Edgar Payne run
ning a two-platoon system the
Redmen were able to run up two
successive wins without too much
trouble. Both games were marked
with many personal fouls and
technical fouls
In Friday night's game the In-
dians were led by Don Taylor
Bob Harris and Carl Anderson
with 12 points apiece Fred Snel-
len was right behind the high-
scorers with 10 points to his cred-

team saw action.
Denny Mitchell of ENMU was
the high-scorer for the night with
26 points. Teammates Ed Lee and
Don Burnev hit 18 and 15 points
respectively for the Greyhounds.
Saturday night's game was
"wild and wooly" everybody got
into the game from both teams.
The first-hall was rather slow in
the scoring column but the sec-
ond half was marked by rough
play and many points.
Jim Jowell led the Indians'
scoring with 19 points. Shelton
Harris and Bill Easterling were
right behind Jowell with 14 12
and 10 points apiece.
For the Greyhounds Roy Franse
took the honors with 16. Mitchell
Burney Lee and Faris each hit
for 13 points.

IHR KIVA PLAY
IN FINAL GAMES
Kiva and IHR the regular sea-
son co-champions won opening
victories in the play-offs Monday
night and were to meet m a best
two of three series starting Tues-
day night for the intramural bas-
ketball championship.
Kiva qualified for finals by
beating the Dirty Shirts 41-21
while IHR came from behind to
nose out Ko-Sari 5-44.
In the regular season play that
concluded last Thursday Kiva
and IHR tied for first place with
four wins and one loss. Ko San
was third and the Dirty Shirts
and the Sophomores tied for
fourth The Dirty Shirts beat the
Sophomores 42-33 for a berth in
the play-offs.
Ed Ammons led the Dirty Shirts
to victory over the Sophomores
with 16 with Sultemeir hitting for
10. James Miller led the Sopho
mores with 13.
Kiva had an easy time with the
Dirty Shirts in the first play-off
game. Otis Ratliff with 12 and
Morris Lemay with 11 paved the
way for the victory Ammons
with 6 led the Dirty Shirts.
IHR came from behind in the
last half to nose out Ko-San m
the final play-off game Monday
night. Billy Anderson led a last
half surge that saw IHR break a
ten point Ko-Sari lead. Anderson
led IHR with 19 15 in the last
half. Jim Bales was the leading
scorer for Ko-Sari with 21.
IHR grabbed the lead in the
Slow league by beating the Kiva
slow league team 17-14. Don
Hendley was the leading scorer
for IHR with 8. Rene Trevmo led
Kiva with 6.
